JULIE'S EXPERIENCE:

Julie is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in treating eating disorders, disordered eating, body image concerns, self-esteem, depression, and anxiety. Julie has multiple years of experience working with adolescents in a higher level of care at a residential eating disorder treatment center where she conducted process and psychoeducational skills groups, family sessions, individual therapy, as well as providing meal support. Additionally, Julie has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in an outpatient psychotherapy practice setting working with eating disorders, ADHD, and Complex Trauma. She has been trained in evidence-based treatment modalities that she blends in to the work she does with clients to achieve goals. Julie enjoys engaging in research opportunities surrounding eating disorder clients and successful approaches to treatment.

JULIE'S APPROACH

Julie values the therapeutic relationship and rapport built through a collaborative approach to therapy. Once established, Julie utilizes skills and tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), as well as helping clients understand their strengths and values to aid in finding their voice to advocate for themselves. Julie values authenticity, humor, creativity, and a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to build their autonomy, practice self-compassion, and realize their worth, all while honoring each client’s unique journey and goals.
